boggy’s Saab

It’s a 1995 Saab 900S 2.3 Automatic that I bought on ebay

19 November 2012 for £490

This is the story so far…

29 November 2012:   Air Conditioning re-gassed by KwikFit in Shirley, helpful friendly service, and they even suggested coming back in a few weeks to top up the system (free) as it was empty originally.

Refitted grill which wasn’t mounted correctly.

Ordered new single DIN radio mount kit to replace current radio/cassette unit.

Requested price for ‘used’ Indicators and foglights.

30 November 2012:  carpet saga continues, still not arrived, promised new ones for next Tuesday (4 Dec).  Contacted Bonnet badge seller (in Portugal) about personalised badges.

3 December: Bonnet badge seller has requested revised Viggen drawings, supplied.  Bought Parts lists fiche and two brochures on ebay.  Still investigating cd player (it’s a nightmare).

4 December:  Four new Vredestein Sportrac 5 tyres fitted, tracking adjusted, adjusters were seized.  They (Wythall Tyre Services) want me to take it back in a week for re-checking (free of charge).   No carpets.  Still chasing cd player, looks like a single DIN version will be easiest, currently looking at a Sony…  Found two genuine new Saab rear discs on ebay and bought for £25.  Ordered a Steering Rack brace kit from Abbott Racing.

5 December:  MIJ Performance quote £295 for a new two box stainless steel exhaust system, seriously tempted… Carpet man at lunch and promised to phone back…  More info on CD player, you can’t fit a 9-3 system in a 900 (different plugs and software)… V5  log book arrived.

Had to phone carpet man, promised them for Friday 7th without fail.

6 December:  Went to Sparkhill to get cd/radio fitted, radio fitted but ‘pocket’ to fill space wouldn’t so reverted to original Radio Cassette.  Ebay seller ‘audio-bargains-4-u’ really helpful, wouldn’t accept anything for his time.  Not sure what to do now?
